Yuvraj Singh reveals hilarious 'untold' story from 2007/08 Border-Gavaskar series: 'I had to wear actress girlfriend's pink slip-ons...'

NEW DELHI: Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared a personal story from the 2007/08 Border-Gavaskar series, providing a unique perspective on the series infamous for the ‘Monkeygate‘ scandal.
Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Yuvraj revealed he was dating an actress who was in Australia for work during that time. “I was dating an actress, I won’t take her name.(She is) very good at the moment and very experienced. She was shooting in Adelaide,” Yuvraj said.
Yuvraj asked her not to meet him as he wanted to concentrate on the crucial series. However, she followed him to Canberra.”I told her, ‘Listen, let’s not meet for a bit because I’m on the Australia tour and need to focus.’ She actually followed me to Canberra on the bus. In two Tests, I didn’t get many runs. And I was like, ‘what are you doing here?’ And she was like, ‘I want to spend time with you’,” Yuvraj recalled.
The story took a funny twist when Yuvraj mentioned how she packed his suitcase, leaving him with only her pink slip-ons.
“In the morning, I was like ‘where are my shoes? She said, ‘I packed them.’ I asked, ‘How would I go on the bus’? And she said, ‘Wear mine,'” he explained.
Yuvraj was forced to wear the pink slip-ons, and his teammates clapped for him as he tried to hide them.
“I had to wear pink slip-ons to the airport until I bought flip-flops there,” Yuvraj added, amusing his audience.
Yuvraj’s revelation about his past girlfriend will surely raise the curiosity of the cricket fans, even though the World Cup-winner decided not to reveal the name of the actress.
