NEW DELHI: With the series level at 1-1 with two more matches to go, the third T20I between India and South Africa becomes an all-important game with the team winning it will not lose the series.
India won the 1st T20I at Kingsmead, Durban by 61 runs on Friday with Sanju Samson hitting a magnificent 107.
The Proteas hit back to win the 2nd T20I at St George’s Park, Gqeberha by 3 wickets on Sunday as Sanju Samson fell for a duck.
Sanju Samson turned 30 on November 11 and that was the day when the team was travelling from Gqeberha to Centurion for the third T20I of the series.
The Indian cricket board (BCCI) shared a video on their official X handle of Samson’s birthday celebrations.
The video showed Indian cricketers first wishing Samson in the bus on the way to the airport and also had the opener cutting a birthday cake after reaching the team hotel in Centurion.
The fourth and last T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Friday.
