‘Together at Christmas’: Kate Middleton’s heartwarming gesture for Gabriella Windsor post husband’s sucide

Kate Middleton reached out to Lady Gabriella Windsor in a heartfelt gesture, as the latter had been mourning the loss of her husband, Thomas Kingston, after he tragically took his own life earlier this year. The Princess of Wales extended an invitation to Lady Gabriella, offering her support and asking for her help in planning the annual Christmas carol concert.
The 42 year old Middleton contacted Lady Gabriella, 43, over the summer following the news of her husband’s death in February, merely three years after their wedding in 2019. Kingston, 45, passed away in Gloucestershire, England.
Princess Catherine also asked Lady Gabriella to assist in selecting the musical performances for this year’s “Together at Christmas” event, which took place on December 6 and is set to air on Christmas Eve.
The daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lady Gabriella was reportedly touched by the royal’s invitation and was described as a “real member of the carol service team” due to her background as a singer-songwriter.
A source shared with the Daily Mail that Lady Gabriella “enjoyed her role within the service and was excited to be a part of it,” while Middleton expressed her “incredible gratitude for her contribution.”
Quoted by the New York Post, the source added that Lady Gabriella felt honoured and deeply touched by the princess’s invitation to contribute to the concert.
For the event, Lady Gabriella invited jazz singer Gregory Porter and pianist Rosey Chan to perform, while Tony award-winning actress Sophie Okonedo read a poem. Lady Gabriella also collaborated with Restore the Music, a nonprofit supporting music education for young people, further enriching the event.
The jazz ensemble performed as guests entered Westminster Abbey before the service. Princess Catherine, who revealed in September that she had completed chemotherapy and is now cancer-free, extended invitations to those who have made a difference in their communities.
The palace stated that Middleton “wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need — individuals who have inspired, counseled, comforted, and above all else shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive.”
This year’s service marked the fourth time Princess Catherine has hosted the annual Christmas carol event, which was attended by over 1,600 guests.
