NEW DELHI: Middle-order batter Ramandeep Singh and fast bowler Vijaykumar Vyshak have received their first India call-ups for the upcoming four-match T20I series in South Africa, starting on November 8 in Durban.
Tearaway paver Mayank Yadav, all-rounder Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag will not be a part of the series due to injuries.
“Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube were unavailable for selection owing to injuries. Riyan Parag was unavailable for selection and is currently at The BCCI Centre of Excellence for long term resolution of his chronic right shoulder injury,” BCCI stated in release.
Mayank, who made his international debut in the recent home T20Is against Bangladesh, has been plagued by recurring injuries, including an abdominal muscle issue that sidelined him from IPL 2024.
He had an impressive tournament debut, consistently bowling at speeds exceeding 150 kph and earning the Player of the Match award in his first two games.
India’s T20I series will kick off in Durban on November 8, followed by matches in Gqeberha on November 10, Centurion on November 13, and Johannesburg on November 15.
Ramandeep, who represents Punjab domestically and was part of Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning squad in IPL 2024, is currently with the India A team in the Emerging T20 Asia Cup, where he has impressed with his exceptional fielding in the deep.
He boasts an average of just under 23 across 56 T20 matches, with a strike rate exceeding 168, along with 16 wickets to his name.
Vyshak, the uncapped fast bowler from Karnataka, has played two seasons with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In his 30 T20 appearances, he has taken 42 wickets at an impressive average of 20.88 and an economy rate of 8.29.
