Prince Harry breaks silence on divorce rumors with Meghan Markle
Prince Harry on Tuesday finally broke the silence on his divorce rumors with Meghan Markle after their appearance at various events separately.
During a summit in New York on Tuesday, Prince Harry engaged in a 35-minute discussion with columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, covering various subjects, including public interest in his personal life, Fox News reported.
Recent separate public appearances by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sparked increased speculation, with royal commentators suggesting their marriage might be ending.
“I Google News-ed you, and there were people fascinated by everything you’re doing, all the time. They’re fascinated by Meghan, who is in California right now, and you’re here,” Sorkin said.
“There’s articles left and right about, you know, why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren’t you doing them together?”
Prince Harry responded, “Because you invited me, you should have known.”
He continued, “You should have known this was going to happen.”
When questioned about the extensive public interest, Harry expressed his disapproval, referencing various false claims about him and his wife.
“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times” so “we’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?'”
The Duke expressed sympathy for those who believed their marriage was in trouble.
“It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls,” he said.
“Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”
Earlier also a BTS clip was released showing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle working hand-in-hand for their Archewell Foundation. Together the Duke and Dutches of Sussex made sure to leave no stone unturned in making their foundations’ work a success, reported Fox News.
The couple relocated to California in 2020 after stepping down from senior royal duties, approximately two years after their Windsor Castle wedding.
The parents of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are scheduled to attend the Paley Center for Media event Tuesday night in Los Angeles, honouring Tyler Perry.
