Organisation In A Manner That Suits Vastu

When you’re trying to organise a space with Vastu in mind, storage and container placement become essential to creating a balanced environment. According to Vastu, every object in a home has an energy that can either enhance or disrupt the flow within a room. Proper storage is therefore key to maintaining a peaceful, organised space that supports positive energy.
One of the primary concepts in Vastu is the importance of direction, and hence the specificity of it cannot be overstated when it comes to placing storage items. If well placed, it can regulate the energy. If poorly placed, it can sign you up for a pretty bad time. For instance, heavy storage like wardrobes or large trunks should ideally be placed in the southwest corner of a room. The southwest is associated with stability and grounding, so heavier items in this direction help anchor the energy, promoting a sense of security and calm.
Lighter storage, such as small cabinets or shelves, is best positioned in the north or east corners. These directions are linked to growth, even knowledge, and keeping these areas less cluttered allows fresh energy to flow in that carries this exact trait. If you’re using containers, ensure they’re neatly stacked or arranged to prevent any sense of disorder, as clutter can disturb the room’s energy flow.
Another useful tip is to keep storage containers closed, especially those containing unused or seasonal items. Open containers can allow stagnant energy to settle and rot in places where they shouldn’t, which will in term bring a feeling of overwhelmingness, whereas closed containers keep it contained and out of sight, encouraging a cleaner, more vibrant environment where old energy doesn’t fester.
For everyday items, try using clear or light-coloured containers that make it easy to see contents and keep things orderly. Transparent containers can also minimise visual clutter, making the space feel more open and less confining.
