SAN FRANCISCO — Director Javier Ferreiro’s short film “Monte” has made its NakedSword debut as part of the studio’s Short Cuts  Fall Film Festival.

The short features Miquel Ínsua, Álvaro Larrán and Guillermo Weickert.

“Monte” centers around Luís, who has a heart attack and then “decides to retreat to a mountain house belonging to his ex-husband, Galo,” the synopsis reveals. “Luís intends to move away from what he wants the most — his young boyfriend, Mario, who is unwilling to let him go so easily. In the same mountain refuge where he spent his childhood, Luís will be forced to confront his fear of death and old age, while he fights the desire to keep Mario by his side.”

“Monte” was an official film festival selection of Mix Brasil São Paulo 2023, LesGaiCineMad Madrid 2023, Mostra Fire!! Barcelona 2024 and Queer Screen Sydney 2024.

“Monte” is streaming on NakedSword.
