Jake Paul gifts Mike Tyson a pigeon ahead of high-voltage Texas bout | Boxing News
NEW DELHI: In anticipation of their upcoming Texas showdown, Jake Paul presented Mike Tyson with a Southeast Asian pigeon, which the boxing legend declared would become prey for his falcon.
The highly-publicised match between 58-year-old Tyson and Paul, who is 27 years old, is scheduled for November 15 at the AT&T Stadium.
During their pre-fight interactions, Paul offered the former heavyweight champion an expensive pigeon as a gesture of admiration. Paul emphasised the significant cost of acquiring the Southeast Asian bird.
Throughout his life, Tyson has maintained a deep connection with pigeons. During his challenging youth in New York, tending to these birds provided him comfort and stability.
However, Tyson’s response to Paul’s gift was unexpected, as he announced his intention to use the pigeon as sustenance for his falcon.
In the previous year, Tyson attracted attention when he visited a distant Polish village to purchase 100 pigeons from a local breeder.
He once said: ‘I was fat and ugly and kids teased me all the time. The only joy I had was pigeons. I’ve loved them since I was nine. They were my escape.’
