India’s 2025 Curiosities: From the 12 Grapes Tradition to Relationships, Political Fate, and Burning Astrological Questions Before the Fireworks!

In India, New Year’s Eve 2025 sees a surge in people consulting astrologers for guidance on job security, relationships, and financial decisions before celebrating. Gen Z and Gen Alpha are particularly engaged, reflecting a broader trend towards using astrology to navigate life’s uncertainties in an evolving world.

New Year’s Eve is often touted as a day of enjoyment and celebration, however this year, people across India choose to seek guidance for the upcoming year from astrologers prior to enjoying the celebrations of welcoming the new year.
With consumption behavior dominated by Gen Z & Gen Alpha, the new year began on a busy note for astrologers and they were occupied with numerous queries from all around the India.
People hopped onto their trusted astrologers and platforms to deep dive into their future in 2025.
On condition of anonymity, a young 23-year-old engineer working with a startup mentioned to us that she wanted to ensure about her job safety and relationship future in the coming year before getting dipped into a wave of enjoyment and celebration. She further goes on to say that she has been continuously consulting astrologers to seek guidance regularly and be prepared in life proactively.
Whereas, another small business owner of around 33 sought the guidance of astrologers to understand the demand for his restaurant in coming year and also discuss the future expansion plans for the business in the new year.
On noticing this trend, we spoke to Vanya Mishra, Founder & CEO of ‘Astrosure.ai’, who goes on to say “On New Years, over 70 percent of our users sought guidance to find purpose in the new year. There was an equally high volume of queries about love, particularly meaningful love and lasting relations.”
Most of our users are in the 20-40 age group, and it seems clear that the need for meaningful relationships is a priority for them in 2025, especially in a world where relationships can feel transactional easily.
The trend was very similar for Gautham AZAD, a Bengaluru based Celebrity Numerologist who mentions that “There was considerable interest in understanding relationships dynamics during the year and business ventures, especially in sectors like construction , technology, and infrastructure. People also sought advice on stock market trends and real estate investments. Folks from Bollywood were more concerned about the business of the film industry and content themes that would perform better during the year 2025″.
Azad further goes on and mention that people were not only concerned about themselves but also the country at large as well. “People were anxious yet hopeful, grappling with questions about the economic and political stability of India under the Modi government. Does the Narendra Modi and his government’s numbers align with stability and economic progress for India in 2025?” he says.
Whereas, Sidhharrth S Kumaar, a Gurugram-based Astrologer & Numerologist further reconfirms this trend. For him as well, the questions related to relationships as well as overall economic conditions & impact of AI revolution on the job landscape were predominant queries from people.
Sidhharrth, further goes on to mention that, usually last day of the year is not a buzzing time for him personally, and people either consult beforehand or after the first few days of new year.
Whereas, this year was exceptional where people were active in knowing about the coming time, before celebration waves. His WA numbers were bombarded with queries around ‘12 grapes tradition‘ as well and people were excited to know more about the same and whether they can also be part of this trend popular over social media.
The excitement and curiosity was very similar for common people as well as people in politics as well as business who intended to be better planned for the coming year.
Kumaar quipped that Astrologer & occult experts are being trusted more by Gen Z and Gen Alpha in taking their life decisions and people are consulting as regular as weekly to seek guidance.
As India ushers in 2025, it is clear that the New Year’s change was a moment of introspection, preparation, and star connection rather than only celebration. From Gen Z to small company owners, and even Bollywood stars, the dependence on astrological insights illustrates a developing trend: astrology is no longer just a ritual but a tool for negotiating life’s challenges in a fast changing world.
