‘He’s legend in the making’: Former India cricketer hails young Yashasvi Jaiswal | Cricket News
NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary praised young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal, calling him a ‘legend in the making’. Tiwary’s comments come as Jaiswal continues to impress with his remarkable talent and skill at a young age.
Known for his aggressive batting style and mature temperament on the field, Jaiswal has already made a strong impact in international cricket, showcasing potential that has caught the attention of fans and seasoned players alike.
Jaiswal, who hammered 77 runs from just 65 balls in the second innings of the second Test against New Zealand, was the lone batter who stood out completely from the rest of the Indian players, who struggled to find answers to the challenges posed by Mitchell Santner, Ajaz Patel, and Glenn Phillips.
Tiwary believes that, with continued hard work and guidance, Jaiswal could become one of India’s future cricketing legends.
“He is a legend in the making. I rate him very highly. I do it because he has everything a cricketer needs to become a great cricketer. And it is quite visible even at such a young age,” Tiwary, who played 12 ODIs and three T20Is, said while speaking on Cricbuzz.
Terming Jaiswal as God’s gift to cricket, Tiwary said he shows with his batting that who is dominating.
“What does he have? He has technique. He has a positive mindset. He has hunger. He has a desire to improve in every innings. And no matter what the situation is, no matter who is in the bowling opposition, he shows with his batting that who is dominating. And domination only comes when you think well, you have good technique, and you have a good range of shots.
“On such a wicket (of MCA Stadium in Pune), if you look at the rest of the great players, they were not able to hit any big runs. But this player, at such a young age, the way he is bowling, the way he is hitting the shots — he is a God’s gift to cricket,” Tiwary added.
