NEW DELHI: After arriving in Perth, India’s captain Rohit Sharma wasted no time in hitting the nets as the team, under the guidance of his deputy Jasprit Bumrah, gradually edged to a resounding victory against Australia in the first Test.
Rohit was on a paternity leave and reached Perth on Sunday night. During Monday’s lunch session, he was observed batting in the nets against reserve pacers Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Navdeep Saini.
Fox Cricket shared a clip of Rohit Sharma batting in the nets:
On Wednesday, the Indian team will leave for Canberra for a two-day tour game that begins on November 30. There is no first-class status for that practice game.
However, the match will have some relevance because it is a “Pink Ball” day/night game and will act as preparation for the second Test in Adelaide beginning on December 6.
Rohit is expected to play in Canberra since the pink Kookaburra in Adelaide presents a unique to the batters, particularly during the twilight hour when the ball is believed to jag around more than usual.
